Happy Opening Day!

I love baseball and more importantly, I love the New York Mets. As Mets fans, we take our lumps for sure - in fact there were two other pitchers expected to pitch for Opening Day, we're on the 3rd choice now due to injury - the season hasn't even started yet! Despite this, I am SO happy for today. Honestly, I'm also really happy for the pitcher, Tylor Megill, who has this amazing opportunity to kick off the season for us (yes, I'm one of those fans who talks about the team as if I'm part of it.) The photo above is from our engagement photo shoot in 2014, we're in the Mets dugout.

There is something so magical to me about the Major League Baseball season, from the sounds of the ballpark to the energy of rooting for your favorite team, there isn't anything quite like it. I love going to the ballpark and being in that energy, celebrating and/or (sometimes both) commiserating with thousands of fans but I also love watching baseball on TV and listening to it on the radio. Enjoying an outdoor activity with baseball on the radio, now, that's a perfect summer day, if you ask me. Want to read more about my love for the Mets? By the way, gone are the days of us vegans just eating French fries while at the ballpark, so many across MLB have many vegan options. Here's a link to the most vegan friendly ballparks, the list is from 2021, I can't find a newer one. Citi Field (the home of the Mets) even has a vendor called Vegan City! Find it in section 105, vegan cheese is an option! Amazing!

How fun is this list? I bet Vegan Mets fans really appreciate the effort you put into it. And umm, I keep hearing about jackfruit. Is it really a good meat substitute?
