Today is Day 13 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge so, I thought I'd write about 13 since it is a number many people have strong feelings about.
As an Angel Number, 13 encourages us to lead with kindness and our hearts in our endeavors. It represents peace, love, and guidance. 13 is also associated with the Ascended Masters, when 13 appears often it is a message the Ascended Masters are near. There are 13 lunar cycles in a year (one every 28 days) so 13 can often represent a feminine energy. 13 can also point to change, is there something new you're working towards or experiencing right now? 13 reminds us to trust that steps on our path are unfolding as they should. If you regularly see 13:13 on a clock (for those using the 24 hour clock), it is a reminder that there are important lessons to be learned from your current situation, be sure to pay attention.
It might seem that 13 (or any number) has too many meanings but you'll know which one is right for you in that moment. I think of it the same way I do when analyzing dreams. For example, water has many symbolic meanings and when I find the one that speaks to the message the dream is sending me, I feel it in my gut.
A fear of number 13
The fear of the number 13 is called triskaidekaphobia. Some people fear this number because they believe it to be unlucky or even dangerous, a bad omen, due to superstition. I read that in Norse Mythology, Loki was the 13th guest to arrive at a feast in Valhalla and tricked another guest into killing the god Baldur. If you follow Christianity, Judas was the 13th guest at the Last Supper, since he's the guy who betrayed Jesus, believers may find this association with 13 to be negative.
This phobia can negatively impact someone's life, from being unable to sit in a seat numbered 13 at a ticketed event to refusing the last room at a hotel because it's on the 13th floor, or Room number 13, to finally hailing a cab on a busy city street only to have to let it go and hope for another because the cab number was 13.
Tell me in the comments below, do you have feelings about number 13? How about a lucky number? Mine is 4.

Kimberly, thanks for some positive ideas about the number 13. I did not know about the Norse version of bad-13. I actually love the number 13. I write about it a couple of times a year, when Friday the 13th looms. People are certainly riveted to it, either in affection or dread!
I always found it interesting to see which buildings skip the number 13. I used to think that my lucky number was 4 but I don't know if I had any real reason for that. It was just my favorite number as a kid. LOL
Interesting! I'm still surprised at how many buildings do not use 13 for a floor but skip to 14. I wonder when that started?
