Working on something new

stacked white bowls on a counter with silver and gold pots hanging behind

Last week, I posted a blog asking some questions about dining out, specifically for those who are vegan already and those who aren't but who might be open to choosing a vegan option. I mentioned in that blog there was a reason for the questions and that I would share that before the end of the month. This is the blog where I start to share some more info.

I am currently training to be a Vegan Hospitality Consultant! What that means is that I will work within the hospitality industry, helping chefs, managers, owners...etc. to incorporate more vegan options, providing a more inclusive customer experience while boosting sales and reducing waste. My services will include things like menu audits, recipe development, and staff training. As I am still in training, I have not yet determined exactly what I will offer or how I will offer it, but, as I'm pulling this together I would love to be connected to others within the industry.

That's where I would love your help, it's been a long time since I've been in hospitality so I don't know anyone anymore! I'm solely looking to start making connections now. If you are in the hospitality industry, let me know! I'd love to schedule some time to connect. If you can introduce me to someone, please do. You can connect with me here. Please share this blog with anyone who you think might be a great connection.

I can't wait to share more with you soon!

Kimberly, good for you! You just reminded me of a story. 25 years ago, we had a holistic newspaper in town, and I was a vegetarian. I wanted to do restaurant reviews for the holistic paper about vegetarian-friendly menus and dishes. I got excited about a pasta marinara dish at a high-end hotel restaurant-- a simple go-to for a vegetarian, right? Well it turned out to be made with beef, such as Better Than Boullion!!!! I accidentally had just eaten beef!!!! Diners, investigate before eating. All the best with your new consultancy. And surely it calls for a handbook, with a catchy name, so you can be on all the national news/lifestyle shows ?

How exciting on your next chapter in life! Maybe you could start at small local restaurants, not chains and see how that goes. I'll look forward to an update.

Congratulations on your new adventure! This sounds like an exciting opportunity! Sadly I can't help you when it comes to networking, but I noticed you're active on LinkedIn, which should be helpful. Good luck!

:-) Tamara
